Hello Massachussetts!

My name is Kai Burridge, and I am playing my final year of basketball at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachussetts.

I have been a youth basketball trainer for over 7 years now. I started in New York City, where I grew up, and then began training in Vermont, where I started my basketball program called KB Training.

Here are some aspects of my training that differ from others:

MESSING UP:

Many coaches have kids do the same repetitive movements that they are already good at. I have all of my kids make mistakes, all of the time! In order to become a better basketball player, you must make mistakes and find a way to perform better the next attempt.

POSITIVITY:

A lot about how a kid responds to a coach is in the way the coach talks to the kid. When I teach, I always highlight something that they performed well, before giving constructive criticism. For example, if I want a kid to take a left handed layup, and they go up with their right hand, I say, “Hey, that footwork was really good! However, use your left hand next time so you can become better at it.”

AFTER TRAINING MESSAGES:

After a workout, I will text the parents explaining what exactly we worked on, and how it will help your kid’s game! I will give you a list of drills to do while you are not training with me, and by the time you come back for your next session, you will be ready to learn a new concept.

If you REALLY want to see improvement in your kid’s basketball game, I HIGHLY recommend you book a session. Please contact me with any questions, or if you’d like to book a session! :)
